LIBRECON powered by CEBIT, technological showcase and forum to boost business

At the event various there will be different stages for the presentations, technical talks and workshops with spaces dedicated to generating business opportunities

LIBRECON powered by CEBIT, the reference event in open technologies in the South of Europe, will bring together on 21 and 22 November at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao expert speakers, success stories and workshops that will provide the most current radiography of the sector.

But, in addition to disseminating the state of the art of the multiple open code applications in key sectors for the economy, such as industry, public administrations or finance, LIBRECON intends to become a forum for the exchange of knowledge and the generation of business. For such purpose, the event will be distributed in differential spaces designed for the best coexistence of its various facets.

Speed Networking, quick appointments to discuss business

The so-called LIBRECON powered by CEBIT Space will host, as well as the inaugural act of the eighth edition of the event, a space for rapid meetings between companies interested in implementing solutions based on open source and the developers of the technology.

The appointments of this Speed Networking will be closed exclusively through a functionality that can be found in the official application of the eighth edition of LIBRECON. A very simple questionnaire will collect the needs of the companies and the capacities of the developer companies to create “matches” that result in practical meetings with a maximum duration of 10 minutes.

The Business Space, for its part, will also host an exclusive networking area for Premium partners.

Technical talks and inspirational spaces

The technologies open source, with their spirit of openness and collaboration, are inspiring by definition. This attribute, which makes them so unique, gives the name to the LIBRECON space which will host the conferences of Richard Stallman, creator of the GNU operating system, Rebeca Marciel, head of consulting of Gartner in Spain and Portugal, or Carsten Emde, general manager of OSADL, among other prominent speakers. The so-called Inspiration Space will also host other formats such as conferences and round tables.

The stages of the Tech Space and the Open Space, on the other hand, will be witnesses to the latest developments recorded by open source in strategic areas of the economy, such as industry, public administrations and finance. They will mainly have two types of presentations: Business cases, or cases of implementation of open source projects in various sectors and workshops which encourage the exchange of knowledge.

IT ecosystem in the Expo Area

The Expo Area of LIBRECON powered by CEBIT shows that the commitment to open source as a way to grow the economy is shared by companies and institutions.

The space dedicated to the exhibition area of the event, which occupies an area of 1,000 m2, will have stands of companies specialized in open source and free software, such asRed Hat, GFI, Serikat, Akcstorm, Btactic, Codesyntax, Irontec, Entelgy, Zylk, Muutech, Tecnalia or Worköholics, associations from the sector likeGAIA, ESLE, ASOLIF or CEBIT itself, and the Basque institutions that support the event: the Basque Government, the Biscay Provincial Government and Bilbao City Council.
